Coast to coast in 2001

This last trip I most recently did to Mexico, reminded me a lot of the first time I drove cross-country.  Both Mexico and the trip in 2001 were in black pick-ups and both with co-pilot Ball. This is a photo that Ball shot with his self-timer of us cooking on my tailgate at a truck stop somewhere in the middle of nowhere. It was freezing that night. We drove with no real destination and no set return date.

All in all both trips opened my eyes to every aspect of my life and helped me through some hard times. Brian being an amazing road partner, and now Jam (who was with us on the Mexico trip), proved to be a real man of the road.

Thanks guys.

Happy Holidays (from Bernal hill)

It finally stopped raining just long enough for Pork and I to head to the top of Bernal to play some good ol ball. Thats what shes looking for right here. The ball that is. I kept acting like I was throwing it just to get her in the photo. Freegen dog. Shes the best.

Well everybody… Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from San Francisco. It was a beautiful day that day.

Then… Puddin sends word of Christmas in Baltimore:

The gift that will make y0u say “WOW” every time. Congratulations Puddin… I know you are STOKED!

My Bike

1980 Suzuki / 250cc

This shot is an ode to Gabe Friedman.

Now I’ve got a year to pass the DMV motorcycle driving test. Or, I can take a class for about $200 and if you take it your exempt from taking the driving test at the DMV. I figure I got awhile to decide which route I’d rather take.

Bikes

I took these photos a few months ago. A huge figure head in the Bay Area Hells Angels was murdered on 24th street and this was his last ride. I was at a coffee shop when I heard them coming. It was like a thunderstorm blasting down the street. There was thousands of them. It took over 10 minutes for all of them to ride by. I was truly an amazing thing to witness.

While I was on my last trip I purchased a motorcycle of my own off of my friend Jam. Its in great condition and he needed to get rid of it, so I figured what the hell. I’ll try it out.

To get a learners permit in the state of California you need to take a written test at the DMV. I studied for it this week and passed it just yesterday. I can finally ride my bike… well.. I can finally begin to learn how to at least.

The Great American West (and some Mexico)

I have been on the road for the last 6 weeks or so. I left SF and headed east to Colorado with an unknown final destination and an unset date or timeline. Semi mid-life crisis tour. Day one of the trip I drove to the border of Nevada and Utah and set up camp.
